fraction worksheet

This week in maths. My group had to do a worksheet about fractions I thought it was hard but it was easy. We had to convert a mixed fraction into a improper fraction  for example 4 3/5 we had to times the denominator with the whole number and then add the numerator like this 4 x 5 + 3 = 23 so the answer is 23/5 because the 5 came from the denominator so that's your answer.

Problem Solving

Last week we had to do our problem solving the questions were pretty hard because I didn't get it but then I asked my friends for some help and they helped me so we were working on the same document to work out these question at the bottom.

Problem Solving:

1. Moana's Watch

Moana set her digital watch at 13:00:00 on the last day of April. Unfortunately the watch loses 11 seconds a day. What is the time on Moanas watch when it is 13:00:00 on the last day of May?

2. Garry the Greengrocer

In Garry's Greengrocers shop he has those old fashioned scales where you put weights on one side and the fruit and vegetables on the other. Over the years he has lost some of the weights and he is now down to only three. But by being a little smart, he is still able to weigh exactly any whole number of kilograms from 1 kg to 13 kg. What are the weights and how does he do the weighing?

3. How Far?

At 1:00 pm, two aircraft take off, one after the other, from Auckland airport. One lands at Christchurch airport at 2:30 pm and the other lands at Sydney airport at 2:30 pm. Does that mean that Christchurch and Sydney are both the same distance from Auckland? If not, how long does the plane going to Sydney actually take?

4. Fertilizer

Marilyn needs to fertilize her front lawn. It measures 20 meters by 30 meters. Each bag of the fertilizer that she plans to use covers approximately 200m2
